Open Windows Settings > Apps, find Brother utilities like ControlCenter or iPrint&Scan, and uninstall them while leaving the actual printer driver intact. The printer driver will remain in Settings > Printers & scanners, allowing you to print without the extra Brother software running in the background. This removes bloatware while maintaining basic printing functionality.
Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager, expand "Printers," right-click your printer, and choose "Update driver." Select "Search automatically for drivers" to let Windows find the latest version, or download the newest driver from your printer manufacturer's website for manual installation.
When printing an image, click Print, select your Epson printer, then click "Printer Properties" or "Preferences" in the print dialog. This opens the Epson driver interface where you can adjust photo-specific settings like paper type, print quality, and color management before printing.
A printer driver is software that translates your computer's print commands into a language your specific printer model can understand. Without the correct driver, your computer cannot communicate with your printer, making printing impossible or causing print quality issues.
Go to Settings > Printers & scanners, click your Epson printer, then select "Manage" and click "Printing preferences." Alternatively, you can access it through Control Panel > Devices and Printers by right-clicking your Epson printer and selecting "Printing preferences."
Download the driver from your printer manufacturer's website, run the installer file, and follow the setup wizard. Alternatively, go to Settings > Printers & scanners > Add a printer or scanner, and Windows will automatically search for and install the appropriate driver when it detects your printer.
Visit your printer manufacturer's support website, enter your printer model, and download the latest driver package. Run the downloaded installer, which will automatically update your current driver, or use Windows Update by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates.
Navigate to Settings > Printers & scanners, click your printer, select "Remove device," then confirm the removal. This method removes both the printer and its driver through Windows' standard interface, making it the safest approach for most users.
Access Print Management by typing "printmanagement.msc" in the Run dialog (Windows + R), expand "Print Servers" > your computer name > "Drivers," right-click the driver you want to delete, and select "Delete." This method removes driver files from the driver store completely.
Launch Device Manager by right-clicking the Start button, expand the "Printers" section, right-click your printer, and select "Uninstall device." Check "Delete the driver software for this device" before confirming to remove the driver files from your system entirely.
Connect your printer via USB or ensure it's on the same network, then go to Settings > Printers & scanners > Add a printer or scanner. Windows will detect your printer and automatically configure the appropriate driver, or you can manually install by selecting "The printer that I want isn't listed" and following the prompts.
Open Settings > Printers & scanners, locate your printer in the list, click on it, and select "Remove device" to uninstall through Windows settings. This approach removes the printer configuration and associated driver files safely without requiring advanced system tools or registry modifications.
